Background:
This project involved updating and reworking
an arthroscopic blade chart that we first designed
more than 10 years before.  At that time, the
company was only marketing 10 blades.  With this
latest redesign, the total number of blades had
now reached 40 — and, an addition of 10 more
blades over the most previous version.

Challenge:
The client needed a fresh approach to providing
their customers with information regarding their comprehensive and growing blade selection.

Solution:
In order to make the chart accessible and easy
to utilize, we organized the 40 blades and burrs
in categories from “least aggressive” to “ most
aggressive”, and z-folded the piece so that it would
fit conveniently into the pocket of the Arthroscopic
Surgical Drive System Brochure.  The chart is not
only educational and instructive, it is functional as
well — it was created with adhesive strips on the
back to be mounted on an OR wall, and it was
laminated, so that it could stand up to the rigors
of the OR.
